I'm considered continuing my work on this project. However, I'm not sure there is much public interest in the continuation of this project. If so, I believe my time would be better spent pusuing one of my other so-called "passion" projects

I don't think I will pick it up for much rapid development, but if you have a few small feature requests, bug fixes or even help in understanding the code (i.e. where to find the source that is responsible for X), I'd be more than willing to help. I was interested in taking a look at the partial linux port for an open source project at school. Is there anything you can share and is the source code available somewhere? Also, what kind of improvements would be useful?

I took a quick look but didn't find the code. It may be on another computer. I'll try to remember to search for it later this week. You might want to reply to this post in a few days to remind me in case I forget.

To get the version in the EASy68k_Port_BETA_win_v0.1.0.zip archive to run you will also need to find mingwm10.dll and wxmsw28_gcc.dll, both of which were included in the archive called "EASy68k Port DEMO-win-v0.0.10.zip" which predates that archive by about 10 weeks.

I am running Easy68k in WinXP under a virtual machine on my mac.
What an excellent little tool it is.

I am into a retro programming phase at the moment.
I use easy68k to refresh my amiga assembler skills.

I could really use a ported version of Easy68k.
It is unfortunate that the original author of the port didn't see it finished.
I can imagine that porting the original code into a cross platform product is a easier said than done.
Replacing the GUI is the easy part, hunting bugs in the simulator not so easy.
Then you really need to know how the 68k hardware works or could behave.

I kind of got curious how far the port got.
I didn't get the binary from the demo zip working.
It had a dependency on very old mingw and wxwidget dlls which weren't included.
Instead I managed to compile the source fetching all its dependencies.

I had an assembler program that compiled and ran ok,
but very few of the buttons for step over, step into, etc worked.

What were the main issues with the port?
I read that speed was mentioned.
Were there any bugs left concerning the port of the simulator?

I am considering making a port myself.
I will probably throw away the Gui, and start over.
But I would like to use much of the other ported code if it's stable.

Ok. I decided to start from scratch with a port.
The version of the old port was too old.
Many corrections and updates are probably missing.

For example it doesn't recognize local labels, preceded with dots.
It doesn't support that local labels can appear more than once.
The latest version of Easy68k does.

I found a Mac port also in the forum... but that was in objective C.
If doing a port, why not making it truly portable.....?

This will be a fun learning adventure.
I finished porting the Assembler today,
and I will start with the Simulator now.
