I got errors with the statement LET SYSCON = 190.

Other names like SYSCOM, SYSCOFF etc had no problem.

Suspecting it was seeing ON as a keyword, I tried AON = 190 and that had the same problem, As did any other name ending in ON.

The workaround is to avoid such names.

Are there any other similar problems with keyword names inside variable names?

Is anyone maintaining EHBASIC68K?

I'll take a look at the code when (if) I get a chance. It may be a few weeks before I can get to it. I'm currently busy getting ready for the start of a new semester.

One RTFM later, I see the interpreter does not allow keywords in variable names, but it does allow spaces(!). Not things I'd expect in a language.

On the good side, keywords are all upper case so variable names in all lower case are guaranteed to avoid the problem entirely.
