Hi all. I have a project that requires me to design and construct a microprocessor system which displays colour indication on a bi-colour LED. When a switch is pressed the colour gradually fades from red through orange to green. When the switch is released the LED holds its current setting.

I am given a EPROM and a M68008 Microprocessor. I do know how to program in C, but I am lost on how to begin. Can someone provide some guidance?

Do you understand how the LED works?

Design a circuit that will supply the correct polarity and amount of current to display each color.

Interface the circuit the the 68K.

Write a program that can create a square wave of varying duty cycle.

There are C compilers available for the 68K. I don't have any links handy but a Google search should locate one.
