i am from malaysia, taking bachelor degree in electrical engineering at MARA technology university and taking microprocessor subject..

i am now tying to complete my project about simple calculator..
the project description that given to me is...

"Design a system that can perform an operation of a calculator that can perform addition, subtraction and multiply of selected numbers. The system will randomly display the numbers, arithmetic operators and te results of the arithmetic operations...
the input = a switch to select number and arithmatic operation.
the output = LCD to display numbers, arithmetic operators and result"

i have to design and interface a circuit to the 68000 trainer.
my question is...

1. How to design the program that satisfy the description above?i tried so many times.I've only completed the subroutines for add, subtract and multify but still i dont know how to design the instruction for the switch and display instruction on the LCD.
2. How to design the circuit and interface it to the 68000 trainer?

please help...any idea?help me...

The answers to your questions depend on the hardware you are using. I would suggest you ask your professor for assistance.

P.S.
Please do not post the same question in more than one place.

i'm sorry professor kelly...i will not post the same topic more than 1 place again..

my professor suggest me to use the VTES trainer or ABLELOGIC trainer..i really dont know how to design the program..
when i do the Multiply instruction,it will display hexadecimal number..
how to convert this number or display it in decimal?

and about the switch, how to design the instruction for the input to the trainer?
my idea is,when we press the switch(push button switch),it will display 0 at the LCD,when we push it again it will display 1 and so on until number 9..and the operator would be the same..one push it wll display +,another push will display - and x...
can i use loop?is there any idea to solve my problem?how many switch i must use?any example for this?

and how to display these number to the LCD?my lecturer has mentioned that different LCD has different address..would you give me an example program?

please proffesor kelly..give me an example how to write the instruction for the input and the output display..thank you...

email your program to me and I will add it to the examples page. Or you may publish it on your own and provide a link to it in the forum.
