I believe this is being caused by User Account Control. Turning off UAC might prevent the problem. Windows 7 UAC will prevent dragging a file from a process with lower user privileges to an application with higher privileges.

On Vista+ systems, as long as both processes have the same integrity level + access tokens, I wouldn't think the UAC was the problem.

Is this only an issue on Windows 7? Or, is this also a problem on Vista? If this problem only appears on 7, it is probably not due to the UAC as much as just some other bug/change.

Now, if you're trying to drag, say, from protected-mode IE to EASy68k, I could understand why that wouldn't be able to work.

The problem was UAC. I never used Vista:pukeleft: so I didn't notice the problem before. Giving the current user more permissions for EASy68K corrects the problem.
