I know you closed the "runtime version" thread, but how about just having command-line switches for "run immediately", and do/don't show output screen, do/don't enable interrupts?

Wouldn't matter much to me whether the emulator's main screen showed as well. The idea is just to make it easier for kids to run games written for EASy; I'd put the command-line stuff in the shortcut/pif.

If you're familiar with QBASIC, that's basically what it has.

...and maybe other switches for current options, as needed.

Lee, what would it take to be able to click on an EHBASIC file and run it?

I think we'd want a distinctive extension, to start with -- .EHB? Don't want "?68" if the same file also runs with 6502, etc. interpreter; maybe do want if it only works with SIM68K.

Then we'd need the ability to specify "load and run this file" somehow. Perhaps a helper program or batch file could run and pass the right arguments to SIM68K and then to the running EHBASIC interpreter?

I'm looking at adding this feature.

Any comments on what the command line options should be?

Something like:

SIM68K.exe filename.S68 /r /f /e

/r = run
/f = full screen
/e = enable exceptions

or whatever.

Sim68K v3.7.6 supports the following command line options:
/f Full Screen
/e Enable Exceptions
/r Run

Here are the contents of an example batch file that will run easyzone in full screen mode.

Code:
"c:\easy68k\sim68k" easyzone.s68 /r /f /e
