Using Version 3.1 of the editor I cannot paste a string into the Find dialog box it pastes the string into the source code instead.

You can paste if you right click in the find dialog and select paste from the menu.

You're right sir... The right-clicking works but... Why not trying to have CTRL-V work also in the find as any other application? The editor support it so it would be just natural that the find box support it also... Me too I'm still CTRL-V in that find box just to realize everytime it doesn't work. After dozen of attemps I realized the right-click paste works but... A CTRL-V would be much better. Ha! Ha!

Shift+Ins also works to paste text in the find dialog.

The find dialog is a standard control in C++ Builder. I have no control over how it accepts pasted text. I would need to create a new find dialog control to get Ctrl+V to work. I will add it to the Wish List.

Ha! The gold old "Shift-Ins"! It tooks me years to convert my brain to "CTRL-V" since compiler/editor stop at some point to support the "Shift-Ins". Now I'll do a flash back in time! Ha! Ha!

Thanks for the hint. It works and I'll use it, beleive me! ;-)

That's strange that your FindDialog works this way. I mean, in Delphi the standard FindDialog works with the CTRL-V for many years. But I don't have any C++ Builder near me so I beleive you... But it's strange...

For all you C++ Builder programmers:

Ctrl-V does not paste into a dialog if you have defined Ctrl-V as a shortcut in an Action List or Menu. Builder will intercept the Ctrl-V keypress before it gets to the dialog.

My solution was to create my own dialog and paste into it from the common paste function called by Ctrl-V.
