I received an email request to add serial I/O support to the simulator.

Would that be serial I/O control of the simulator program, or serial I/O from the simulated program? I could appreciate either. I've been thinking about how useful real-world I/O would be, such as perhaps direct control of the LPT (parallel printer) port from the simulated program. Just think, REAL LEDs & switches! :) Or more generally useful, perhaps a PIA or two on a powered breadboard.

I've got additional thoughts on this, including simulated peripheral chips, but I'll wait until I've developed them a bit more.

EASy68K will support serial I/O in version 4.8. See this thread for more details: http://www.easy68k.com/EASy68Kforum/viewtopic.php?p=2323#2323
